I've compiled a list of my favorite restaurants, pubs, and cafes in Frome, which are the places we frequent most often as a family or as a couple on our rare date nights. While there are many more dining options in Frome, these establishments are the ones I know best as a local.
After a long day exploring and visiting cities like Bath, Longleat (especially with discount tickets), or learning more about Stonehenge, you might not feel like cooking for the family again—and who could blame you?
Thankfully, our self catering holiday accommodation is just a short drive from the town centre offering you an abundance of choices among the various restaurants, cafes and pubs in Frome.
I've highlighted some of my favorite cafes in Frome, but please note that most of them typically don't stay open in the evening. Personally for us, they’re more suited to brunch, lunch or a relaxed late afternoon visit. :)

At the top of the street, you'll find a fantastic spot for people-watching outdoors. The atmosphere here is always lively, thanks to the incredibly friendly staff and the exceptional quality of the food they prepare. I should mention that it’s not the cheapest option to eat out in Frome, but in my experience, you truly get what you pay for in terms of quality. You'll find them open seven days a week.

A cosy place to sit with lovely coffee and pastries being served whilst hanging out on Catherine Hill people watching. Moo and Two is dog friendly too but that might not suit everyone...

This cafe has earnt 365 mostly 5 star reviews and trust me it's a lovely find in Frome! Lots of choice on the menu and the cafe owners cater well for vegans and vegetarians too.

Sadly this cafe now only offers a take-out option serving snacks and drinks but there is no inside seating. A bit of a shame in my experience!

A really funky independent cafe in Frome, Steve and I absolutely love it! There's plenty of outdoor seating too plus they play some great music on vinyl.

This pub has some amazing decor which never ceases to surprise me. They offer good sized portions for the money and do a brilliant Sunday Roast that's worth experiencing! They allow dogs too. Book ahead to avoid disappointment.

A very traditional Frome pub, my other half loves it as they offer Butcome Original on draft. you'll find generous offerings of classic pub grub from their menu but it's all fairly priced. Worth a visit.

An olde worlde stone pub that's got lots of quirky rooms to sit in. They offer up pretty decent food - we think their burgers are some of the best in Frome. In our experience they take great pride in always going the extra mile for their customers.

A really spacious Chinese restaurant for those that love their noodles! They make a mean Singapore Noodles here by the way. Can be a little pricey but we've always enjoyed our previous visits, the quality of their food is amazing.
